The National are my favourite band, ever since I heard Fake Empire in 2010. Boxer continues to be my favourite album, with Slow Show being my favourite song. Today the Brooklyn based band released a new album, Trouble Will Find Me.
Trouble Will Find me is their sixth album after The National, Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers, Alligator, Boxer and High Violet. They have two EPs; Cherry Tree and The Virginia EP
Trouble Will Find Me has the same baritone voice that we’ve heard on all previous albums from Matt Berninger.
This album hasn’t changed much from their general overall feel, which is pretty amazing for a sixth album. It’s similar to The Virginia EP and the stand out song on the album is Don’t Swallow the Cap followed by Graceless, I Need My Girl and Humiliation (track # order.)
Demons is quite similar to Slow Show (Boxer) lyrical wise but it’s a bit slower in sound. Sea of Love is a more upbeat but it’s no Bloodbuzz Ohio.
Pink Rabbits is probably the most branched out on the album with its piano base but it’s nothing entirely different.
